The LABELS Project
The LABELS Project was developed in 1992 to educate our young people on how the issues of bias, prejudice, and stereotyping hinder our individual and collective growth.
FYI - The LABELS Project and Bullying program are currently on hold. Please check back for updates.
History
The LABELS Project provides young audiences with the opportunity to explore their differences in a stimulating, “interactive” and creative environment. This
program supports individuality, celebrates diversity, and teaches positive resistance skills for coping with peer pressure.
Through the years The LABELS Project has evolved into a truly wonderful series of three interactive musical adventures. Each production has its own important message targeted for specific age groups. For example: In our concern for the abuse of drugs,
alcohol and inhalants among young people, Fledgly Makes A Choice was designed specifically to teach children how they can empower themselves through the use of resistance skills as they enter middle school.
These plays, developed with the Howard County Office of Human Relations/Equity Assurance are an invaluable teaching tool. Your students will learn by watching Fledgly and his spirited troupe of friends as they struggle with and overcome some of life’s unavoidable obstacles.
