Testimonials

"Toby… I’m still using everything you taught me 35 years later!  You’re still my greatest teacher and an inspiration.  You and CCTA are miracle workers.  Congratulations on 40 years of wonderful work"

Edward Norton,

CCTA Alum, Actor and Director

"By providing quality arts experiences, forging strong educational partnerships and reaching out to children in need for nearly four decades, CCTA has created a record of excellence that is clearly a model for youth outreach initiatives."

Nancy S. Grasmick,

Retired Maryland State Superintendent of Schools

"This collaboration is one that truly promotes and extends the academic achievement of our children and motivates them to be more active and participatory in their regular classrooms."

Mary C. Donnelly,

Principal, John Ruhrah ES/MS in Baltimore, MD

"Over the years, CCTA has encouraged thousands of students and given them the determination and self-esteem to achieve their goals, not only on stage, but in life too."

Coleen West,

Executive Director, Howard County Arts Council

"We can truly not say enough about the benefits that the Teen Professional Theater experiences have brought to our son and to our community."

Parent,

Teen Professional Theatre

"What parent isn’t excited (and, honestly, somewhat overwhelmed!) as we witness the transformation from our middle school baby to young adult possessing the skills and abilities necessary to navigate a college career?  These are not just skills she can use on the stage but are great life skills as well."

Parent,

Teen Professional Theatre

"The pleasure we have received during our four summers with you is boundless.  In a world fraught with strife, we intend to stay on this cloud for a long time."

Grandparent,

Teen Professional Theatre

"In 1995 I gave permission for CCTA and playwright Carole Lehan to dramatize my life in the children’s play, Ben Carson, M.D.   It is seen each year by hundreds of school children from throughout the Baltimore-Washington area at Toby’s theater in Columbia.  The play gives a voice to my life story and message that we must THINK BIG in order to overcome life’s hurdles and achieve our dreams."

Dr. Benjamin S. Carson

"What do I remember about CCTA?  I remember the shows and the people.  I remember performing at famous places, The Kennedy Center…and the White House.  I remember everything….it was my childhood."

CCTA Alum

"I am thankful to CCTA for the opportunities it has given me and the role it has played in my overall development."

CCTA Student

"I learned to THINK BIG.  I can be anything if I set my mind to it."
