SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE, the Pulitzer Prize winning musical, delves into the world of French pointillist painter Georges Seurat's most famous work, “A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte,” in the midst of upheaval and controversy in the Parisian art scene.

According to MTI, "Act One follows the inarticulate Seurat as he fights a losing battle to maintain a relationship with his mistress Dot as he creates his painting “A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte” amid the scorn of the artistic community. The second act takes place 100 years later, introducing us to his American descendant, also an artist, burned out and uncertain of the path he must take."

SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE channels the message of humans and their connections to the world around them, as well as what came before them.

Stephen Sondheim’s lyrics add extra color to the canvas of this musical masterpiece.
